Passive Income Portfolio

While I do enjoy my money experiments, my ultimate goal is to use the money from those experiments to create enough passive income to help me retire earlier.

Every week or so I take a portion of my online income and invest it. My portfolio is pretty small but I know if I keep plugging away it will start to snowball. πŸ™‚

Here’s my progress so far:

Total Invested: $130

Here is the breakdown of the passive income portfolio I’ve created by using ONLY my online income:

GroundFloor

GroundFloor is a place that allows people to invest into real estate loans with just $10.

The loans are short-term (typically 6-12 months) and the typical return is about 10%.

Goals For 2021:

My goal for 2021 is to have at least $1000 invested into different loans on GroundFloor.

WorthyBonds

When you purchase a bond from Worthy it’s used to loan money to small businesses. These bonds are on a 36-month term, and have a 5% interest rate.

The Worthy bonds are also super liquid, you can take out your money anytime (without paying fees).

WealthSimple

I realized I don’t have the stomach for investing in individual stocks, so I’m currently using a personal taxable account to invest a little each month with WealthSimple (they’re a roboadvisor).

Also WealthSimple has socially responsible investing portfolios. Yay!
